To Bring Life VS To Take Life

To Bring Life VS To Take Life Jack Harris - Aug 23, 2009 CALLING EVIL GOOD AND GOOD EVIL Today; on Iraqi News we watched as thousands in Libya turned out to give a hero's welcome to a terrorist just released from prison. This is the man responsible for a bomb placed aboard a U.S. airliner that exploded and crashed on the Scottish town of Lockerbie, killing all on board and 11 people on the ground. A cold-blooded killer celebrated by a nation that supposedly has renounced terrorism. THE SCENES… Continue

EXILES IN THEIR OWN NATION: Half Of Baghdad's Christian Population Has Fled

According to an Associated Press article, Half of Baghdad's Christians have fled the city since the war began. The article is a whopping one sentence long and basically tells you what I've just said. As a believer, I was somewhat stunned at the lack of interest there seems to be in pe… Continue

The Next Iraq Civil War?

This article is an important read for all of you who have been following the work here in Iraq. It says what I have been saying for the last five years concerning the political situation here in N. Iraq in it's relationship with the Arab majority in the south. If American Foreign policy fails in this region or if it abandons the gains that have been made by the Kurdish Region since the placement of the No Fly Zone in 91' The picture could revert to the same scenario observed under the former Ira… Continue

IRAQ EARTHQUAKE

Here are some details from last night's Earthquake here in Iraq. This is an unusual occurrence here. I was still awake when it hit. My hotel is a large four story concrete structure, the motion felt like the building was rocking back and forth and of course, construction standards here aren't what they should be so it was a frightening experience though there was no apparent damage to the building. For all of you who are used to these things out in S. Cal. remember, here buildings are not built… Continue

IRAQ UPDATE: July 1st, 2009

Yesterday was a historic occasion for Iraq and the USA, it marked the official withdrawal of US forces from the cities of Iraq and the turning over of national security to the Iraqi Forces. For the people of the southern part of Iraq, this was marked as an occasion for celebration; not so here in the North. There are concerns here for the future of Kurdistan's autonomous control over this region. There are six or seven million Kurds in the north VS an Arab population of forty million. For now, t… Continue

Discipleship, Ramadan and Cyberspace

When Paul wrote from a prison cell in Rome back to his disciple Timothy or sent his word to the Churches, it could take weeks or months. Today, from the other side of the world I can communicate with text, pictures, audio and video via the internet, it's truly a great time of opportunity that we live in, especially for communicating the Gospel of Christ. This same medium has been used by evil men with violent intent to great effect. I'm encouraged that we are able to use these things for good an… Continue
