I know I'm rasing a hornets nest but i got to the point that i don;t believe the church should go out and act like demons, devils and the gouls of the dark world to act like the Macabe and the things of evil to scare conversions of people? Did anyone ever get saved and stay in the church because they got the C**p scared out of them ? And then churches take bus loads of people to knotts scarry farm and to help these people make a profit? Is this the christian thing to do? I got invited to go to a hell house and politely turned it down and the invitee hung up on me.
I just don't agree with the Hell Nights put on during the halloween week anymore!

Hey Pastor!
I do think it's better than hanging back and letting the world continue on with their halloween while we the church do nothing. All we're doing is taking advantage of the season and ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are supposed to be all things to all people and we're meeting them at their level without hurting our testimony... I just don't understand how that can be wrong? I mean, I'd understand if we were having a costume party at the church. But that's not the case, we're putting on a drama to teach and illustrate biblical truth. It's a Holy Ghost trap! Just my thoughts and observations on the matter.
I do think the behavior of that person who invited you to Hell House and then hung up on you when you declined was just awful! I'm very sorry that you were treated that way.

I instructed my church on the evils of halloween. This year we did not have any events. We completely bipassed that stupid day! It felt nice not to have to try to come up with an alternative.

Here are my thoughts ... I am not TOTALLY against doing "Hell Houses" per se , but my concern is what does the community that the church is in think? Do they understand what the church is doing ? DO they understand our intent ? These so called "hell houses" could damage the testimony of the church . Yes , people will come out to attend these events . The question is is there genuine fruit ( lasting fruit ) coming from these events ? If there is GREAT ! My thoughts

This year, our Hell Night drama has seen over 2400 people give their lives to Christ, most churches don't see that many salvations in the lifetime of their church. Kansas City has used this tool and through this, many of our leaders were initially saved and are now involved in the drama, young pregnant women who was planning on having abortions didn't, people laying drugs at the alter, and I personally saw one man come to the drama who was planning on committing a murder admitted to Pastor Kelly his plans and did not go through with it after seeing our Hell Night drama, so my question is, what if we would not have done the drama all these years, how many abortions would have been done, how many murders, etc. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but when you see the fruit of this kind of drama, there is no way to deny it's effectiveness for the Kingdom.

Amen! The Word of God never comes back void... Fruit will come out of the seeds that were planted through that drama. The law of the harvest.
