Purpose and Objectives of the Theology Group

Purpose of the Theology Group

This forum is about learning, & sharing, and it is driven out of a desire to help people how to think by opening their minds to diverse views, learning from history, wrestling with difficult issues, and graciously engaging with others.

I would say that one goal is not so much to teach good theology, as important as that is, but to teach people to think. The desire here is to teach Irenic (peaceful) Theology, and not Polemic (War like) Theology. Which the latter is ok, but it is not the purpose of the Theology Group. I would hope that as we discuss all opposing views, we represent them as accurately as we can.

Also there are enough non-pentecostal Calvinist teaching out there. So another goal, and this is a major one is to promote a further understanding of Pentecostal and Arminian Theology, and what doctrines PCCF has accepted, practice and believed historically.

2 Timothy 2:24-26 "The Lord’s slave must not quarrel, but must be gentle to everyone, able to teach, and patient, instructing his opponents with gentleness. Perhaps God will grant them repentance to know the truth. Then they may come to their senses and escape the Devil’s trap, having been captured by him to do his will." - CSB

hahahaha Joe, you are right bro. We have asked the group to be concise and not to create such long post, especially when they venture out of the topic at hand, but we are a bunch of writing lunatics, for the exception of a few guys that keep it brief and to the point, but I happened to be one of the lunatics hahahaha but we are trying bro.

Hey bro Esmer,
we need to do both. We need to study the word, so we can learned about God and we need to examine ourselves to make sure we are in the truth.

Do we need study the life of our God ,or do we need to study our self for our salvation?

Hello everyone. New year greetings from Kenya, East Africa. It is well with us here.

Is anyone able to get me a copy of J.I. Parker's "Knowing God?" If you are able to bless me with a copy (new or old) I will really appreciate.

Keep sharing with us what the Lord has revealed to you about Himself & His kingdom. It is blessing all of Us. Enjoy His presence.

Christ asked the question, "Who do men say that I am?" (Matthew 16:13). Why do you think that Christianity has historically made belief in the deity of Christ as the primary test for orthodoxy?
