China Update - Rory Butler
Greetings from China.
I've been back a couple weeks and am basically now back in the swing
of things here.
God has done some awesome stuff recently. Just today we baptized a
new guy and prayed for him to be filled with the Spirit. God moved so
powerfully that we were all lost in the presence of God for over an
hour. He began manifesting in a strange way and I began praying for
deliverance but the manifestation didn't stop right away. Then God
gave me a word of knowledge that it was a spirit of suicide and that
he had attempted suicide before. I asked him and he confirmed that it
was so. The Spirit of God then came on me powerfully and drove that
spirit out! He was set free! Later on He was so caught up in the
presence of God he didn't even know that he was speaking in tongues.
Check this out. I had just told him about the Holy Spirit thirty
minutes before we prayed for him. He had know idea about any of this
stuff. God just moved on him. Afterward he asked me how I knew he
had tried to commit suicide before, I told him God knows all things!
He said "yeah I know God does, but how do you?" ha ha! I told him God
revealed it to me. He left his baptism a transformed man! Praise
Jesus for the good things he does! The week before we also had people
baptized in the Holy Spirit in our service.
We are planting our first church so please pray for this. We've
already got a meeting place and next saturday will begin to start the
outreach in that area. Its a university that is mostly artsy types
and known for very loose living.
